Workspace and team
Workspace settings
Rename your workspace, find its address, and delete a workspace you no longer need.
A workspace is where your agent, channels, knowledge sources, actions, inbox, leads and cases live. Its basic settings are under Settings → Workspace. This page covers the workspace's name and address, and how to delete a workspace.
The same page also holds the account-wide controls for exporting your data and deleting your organisation. Those are covered in Security and data.
Who can change these settings
- Owners and admins can rename the workspace.
- Only the workspace owner can delete it.
- Members can see the settings but not edit them. They see the note "Only owners and admins can change these settings."
Rename your workspace
The workspace name is what your team sees across the app.
Open workspace settings
Go to Settings → Workspace.
Edit the name
Type a new name in Name. Names can be up to 60 characters.
Save
Click Save changes. You'll see Workspace updated.
Your workspace URL
Workspace URL shows your workspace's address, which every page in the workspace sits under (for example orbitbase.io/acme-support). It's set when the workspace is created and can't be changed. Renaming the workspace doesn't change its address, so bookmarks and shared links keep working.
Delete a workspace
Deleting a workspace permanently removes it and everything in it, including connected channels, knowledge sources and actions. There's no way to recover it.
Before you start:
- You must be the workspace owner.
- Your organisation must have another workspace. If this is your only one, you'll see "This is your only workspace, so it can't be deleted." To close everything instead, delete the whole account (see Security and data).
Open the danger zone
Go to Settings → Workspace and scroll to Delete workspace.
Start the deletion
Click Delete workspace.
Confirm the name
Type the workspace's name exactly as shown, then click Delete workspace again.
The workspace disappears for everyone straight away, and its data is then removed in the background.
Deleting a workspace can't be undone. If you might need its conversations or contacts later, export your data first.
Workspaces and your plan
Your plan belongs to your organisation, not to a single workspace. Limits such as messaging channels, seats, configured actions and training storage are shared across every workspace you own. See Plans and limits.
FAQ
Can I change my workspace URL?
No. The address is fixed when the workspace is created. You can rename the workspace as often as you like.
Why can't I see the Delete workspace button?
Only the workspace owner can delete a workspace. Admins and members see "Only the workspace owner can delete it." If it's your only workspace, deletion isn't available at all.
