Integrations
Connect the accounts your agent works through, Calendly, Cal.com, Slack, Intercom and Notion, and manage or disconnect them.
Integrations are the outside accounts your agent works through. Some give it knowledge to learn from, and others let it take action in the middle of a conversation, like booking a meeting or filing a ticket. You manage them under Settings → Integrations.
Connecting an integration doesn't change what your agent does on its own. It unlocks a new type of action on the Actions page, which you then set up and switch on.
Looking for Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack as places customers message you? Those are channels, and they're set up on the Channels page. See Channels overview.
Available integrations
The page has two sections, Knowledge and Tools. The count at the top shows how many are connected.
Knowledge
| Integration | What it does |
|---|---|
| Notion | Import pages from Notion so your agent answers from the documentation your team already keeps |
Notion is set up from Sources, not from this page. Click Manage on the Notion card to go there. See Notion.
Tools
| Integration | What it does | Actions it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Calendly | Offers real openings from your calendar and books the time the customer picks | Calendly |
| Cal.com | Offers real openings from your Cal.com calendar and books the time, with Cal.com's own invite and reschedule links | Cal.com |
| Slack | Posts an alert into a team channel when a conversation needs a person | Slack alerts |
| Intercom | Hands a conversation to your team as an Intercom ticket | Intercom |
Calendly, Cal.com and Intercom carry a Creates records badge. That means your agent creates bookings or tickets in that account, under your customers' names.
The Slack integration here is only for alerts your agent sends to your team. Letting customers message your agent in Slack is a separate connection on the Channels page. See Connect Slack.
Before you start
- You need to be an owner or admin of the workspace.
- Your organisation needs an active plan.
- You need an account with the service you're connecting, and permission to approve apps in it.
Connect an integration
Open Integrations
Go to Settings → Integrations.
Click Connect
Find the integration under Tools and click Connect. A popup opens.
Sign in and allow access
Sign in to the service and approve OrbitBase. When you're done, the popup closes and you'll see a message such as "Calendly connected."
Set up an action
Go to Actions and create the action that uses it. See Actions overview.
If your browser blocks the popup, allow popups for OrbitBase and try again.
Check what's connected
A connected integration shows a Connected badge. Where the service provides it, the card also shows which account is connected, such as the name of your Slack workspace.
Integrations are connected per workspace. If you have more than one workspace, connect each one separately.
If an action that relies on an integration keeps failing, owners and admins get an Action failing email. See Notifications.
Disconnect an integration
Open the integration
On Settings → Integrations, find the connected integration.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect, then confirm.
Every action built on that integration stops working straight away, and your agent tells customers it can't complete them. Your actions are kept, so reconnecting the integration brings them back.
Troubleshooting
"You cancelled before granting access"
You closed the sign-in window or declined the request. Click Connect and approve access.
"That took too long"
The sign-in took more than 10 minutes. Start the connection again.
"You need to be an owner or admin of this workspace, on an active plan"
Ask an owner or admin to connect it, or check your plan in Settings → Billing.
