Get started
Build your first agent
Sign in, pick a plan, run the guided setup, teach your agent, test it and put it live on your first channel.
This guide takes you from a new account to an AI agent answering real customers. You'll sign in, choose a plan, name your workspace, add knowledge, connect a channel, test the agent in the Playground and then go live.
The guided setup takes about five minutes. Allow a little extra time for your knowledge to finish training and for a few rounds of testing in the Playground.
Before you start
- An email address you can open right away — OrbitBase signs you in with a link, not a password.
- Some material about your business to teach the agent: your FAQ page, a returns or delivery policy, a product guide or a price list.
- Access to at least one account your customers message, such as an Instagram professional account, a Facebook Page, a WhatsApp Business number or a Telegram bot. You can also start with only the website widget, which every plan includes.
Get set up
Sign in with your email
Go to the OrbitBase sign-in page, enter your email and click Send sign-in link. Open the email and click the link to continue. There's no password to create or remember.
If the link has expired or was already used, request a fresh one from the sign-in page — each link works once.
Choose a plan
On Choose your plan, compare the plans and click the button on the one you want — for example, Choose Growth. You're taken to a secure checkout to pay. When payment is confirmed, OrbitBase activates your subscription and moves you on to setup.
Plans differ in how many AI replies, messaging channels, teammates, actions and how much knowledge storage you get. See Plans and limits.
Name your workspace
Enter Your name (your teammates see it in the inbox and on assignments) and a Workspace name — usually your business or brand. You can rename the workspace later in Settings → Workspace.
Work through the guided setup
The setup walks you through Your business, Channels, Integrations, Knowledge and Actions. Everything after naming your workspace is optional and saves as you go, so you can click Skip for now on any step and come back later. See The setup wizard for each step in detail.
Teach your agent
Your agent answers from the knowledge you give it. The more accurate and complete it is, the better your agent's answers.
Add your most-asked answers first
In the Knowledge step of setup, or later from Sources in the sidebar, add:
- Documents — PDF, DOC, DOCX or TXT files up to 10 MB each.
- Websites — a single page by its link, or many pages from your sitemap.
- Free text — answers you write yourself, such as delivery times or opening hours.
- Notion — pages you share from your Notion workspace.
Wait for training to finish
Each source shows its status. When it reads Trained, your agent can answer from it. This usually takes a few minutes. See Training status.
Connect a channel
Open Channels
In the sidebar, click Channels (or use the Channels step of setup).
Connect an account
Under Available platforms, click Connect on the platform you want and follow the prompts: sign in with Facebook for Messenger and WhatsApp, sign in with Instagram for Instagram, sign in with Slack for Slack, or paste a bot token for Telegram. See Channels overview.
Or add the website widget
Your website widget is already switched on. Open it from the Website section of Channels, go to Install, click Copy snippet and paste the line just before the closing
</body>tag on your site. See Website widget.
Test in the Playground
Before customers reach your agent, chat with it yourself.
Open the Playground
In the sidebar, click Playground.
Ask what a customer would ask
Type a real customer question in Ask your agent something… and press Enter. Try your top questions, an awkward edge case, and something your knowledge doesn't cover.
Adjust and try again
If an answer is off, improve the source it should have come from, or refine your agent's instructions in Settings → AI. You can also try new instructions side by side with Compare a variant. See Testing in the Playground.
Playground replies use the real agent, so each one counts toward your plan's AI replies.
Go live
Your agent replies automatically as soon as a channel is connected — there's no separate publish step. To check it's on, go to Settings → Security and make sure Reply to customers automatically is switched on. See Auto-reply and rate limits.
Then send a message to your connected account from a personal account, and watch the conversation appear in Inbox with the agent's reply.
